Sock-Hop

Alyssa had 50’s day at school and they had a sock-hop. Here are a few pictures of Alyssa in her 50’s day clothes & at the dance. The kids looked adorable & had a lot of fun!

Halloween

The day was finally here -- the day they’ve asked about for almost 6 weeks! We started off our evening at our friends annual Halloweenie Roast, then met up with some friends and trick or treated for a couple of hours. Yes, way too long, but they had a lot of fun.

Alyssa was a cheerleader -- she couldn’t decide what to be -- I even offered her money to be one of her old costumes & although she really considered the offer, she opted to be something new & picked a cheerleader.
Dylan was a cowboy on a horse. He has wanted to be an elephant for a year, but when he saw this costume, he loved it.
Lauren was a hand-me-down ladybug from when Alyssa was 1. She loved it.
Here are the kids greeting Daddy as he got home at 5:30 after a week in LA.
Lauren eating her very 1st sucker! She thought she was in heaven! :)

Mummy Dogs

Daddy was gone all week, so I tried to be purposeful with our time & plan fun activities and things to do. I found this recipe for Mummy Dogs & the kids & I made them. They had fun wrapping their hotdogs into mummy’s. As you can see, they didn’t really look like mummy’s, but they had a blast doing it. :)

Fall Party

Our friends hold an annual Fall Party each year for the kids. Usually the kids wear their costumes, but this year we opted to skip that part. The kids still had a blast decorating (& eating) cookies, doing a craft, and petting the animals at the petting zoo. Alyssa was thrilled as she wasn’t scared of anything & held bunnies, chickens, a rooster & even a goat. She tried to catch the pig, but it was just too fast for her. Lauren even had fun & picked up a couple of the bunnies. Dylan wasn’t too sure about anything -- he stayed attached to Papa the whole time.

Dylan My Heartbreaker!

It’s hard to believe my little boy is 4! Time does fly! I believe Dylan had an excellent day, but I’m not sure he wants to admit it! We started the day with breakfast at Village Inn. He had french toast sticks...have I told you how much that boy can eat?! His party was at Kiddie Acres -- a small amusement like park with rides for little ones. He had a smile from ear to ear as he road the train, ferris wheel, carousel, cars, airplane, boat & even a pony ride! He picked Chili’s for dinner, but he was too excited (& wiped out) to eat as he wanted to go home and play with his new toys.

Popsicle Pals

The kids love popsicles --they are a special treat at our house. You may think I’m lame, but if they had them all the time it wouldn’t be fun or near as special when they did. So, I surprised the kids with their special “snack”. They always eat them outside to avoid a mess -- I know another lame thing I do, but you’ve never been around my son if you don’t understand that one. (He always wears at least 1/s of his popsicle!) Anyways, on to this picture -- I had to capture this precious moment I saw as I went to check on them in the backyard. I found them just being SWEET. For a second, I remembered their INNOCENCE -- they were being calm, quiet & taking in every bite of that popsicle! I wish I enjoyed the small things that much! Even Lauren was enjoying the popsicles & she didn’t even eat one! :)

Playing at the Park

So, today we stopped the busyness of life & enjoyed the beautiful weather and each other. We always have lists of stuff that need to be done, errands to run, etc. It was a beautiful day so we packed a picnic and went to the park. The kids had a wonderful time & we enjoyed seeing them have fun. It was a nice reminder that it’s the simple things that bring them joy.

So BIG!

I can’t believe how big she is getting!!! I think I say that daily. Somebody once told me as time passes it only seems to go quicker. I can truly testify to that now. It’s hard to believe my “baby” is almost 2. Not only does, she look older, her vocabulary is increasing daily & so is her independence. She thinks she’s as old & can do exactly what her brother & sister do. She has no idea that she is smaller.

All cute & sweet eating raisins in Daddy’s chair before she decided she’s big enough to open the refrigerator & refill her own milk.

So, yes, this is the full-on fit that she threw just because she thought she could do it all on her own. Did you see her face in the 2nd pic??? I’m so glad I got this on film!!! It’s laughable, really...that a small one that is waited on hand and foot gets upset because she can’t get her own milk?! If only somebody would get me a cup of milk when I wanted one!

Pumpkin Patch

The kids were out of school, so Daddy took off work and we headed to Marble Falls for our annual Pumpkin Patch trip. We went with some friends and had a really good time. We painted pumpkins, petted goats, went on a hay ride and saw lots of pumpkins. The kids had a blast & you would have never known Dylan had almost 103 temp by the time we got home! We love this time of year - Daddy’s favorite month is October -- it’s hard to believe it’s almost over & another year has past. Here are some pics from our day -- note it looks like we only have 2 kids -- I promise there is a 3rd one -- she just has a mind of her own!
