So, I’m a bad mommy -- I didn’t take many pics this summer nor did I update this blog. I can’t even remember what we did. I do know we had a great summer & I’m really sad school is in session (well, not so sad anymore as I had my 1st week with 2 days to myself). I will start volunteering for Alyssa’s teacher next Weds. so that leaves Monday as Me time. Me time will include working out & grocery shopping. Whoo-hoo -- has life changed from the days pre-family. We got moved into our new house. I’m still unpacking, but I think we’ve done super well considering there are no un-packed boxes in the house & pretty much everything has a home. Curtains & pictures are not hung, but that will come in time. It has been an emotional ride to say the least. I said good-bye to our old house tonight & it was as sad as I thought it would be. I love the new house, but I will miss the old house as we created so many awesome memories and had many wonderful blessings. Did I mention our camera died? Yes, that just stinks. That’s all we need -- another expense -- we are shelling out money like crazy with the house stuff, so this was not ideal timing. But, who can go without a camera. I guess I need to get it ordered. So, here’s our summer in one blog. :)
Dylan loves to eat cotton candy at Summerfest. Our kids look forward to going every year.
Dylan still loves to “rock-out” on his guitar.
My baby is growing up way too fast. Her vocabulary is crazy. She repeats everything you say & then she has her own language which we call “chinese” as she babbles & even uses her hands to talk. She knows what she’s saying although we don’t. It’s too cute, though!
We did manage to find time to have some fun in the sprinklers -- the kids love to play in them & it gives the grass an extra drink! ;)
We spent a week at the lake with Grandma & Grandpa Balko. The kids swam every day & had a lot of fun. Dylan even went golfing with Daddy & Grandpa. The highlight of the trip had to be feeding the deer. They were everywhere & would eat out of your hand. Lauren even fed one. What an experience to have with the kids.
My baby turned 7. What??? 7???? How can it be. It just seems like yesterday she was 2. She had a blast at her party and picked Chuck E. Cheese (not mommy’s pick) for her b-day dinner. She had fun, though.
Lauren is starting to show a side of her that is just ornery. She sure lets you know when she doesn’t want you near or something isn’t so. She tends to throw her food when she doesn’t want it, drop her plate or throw her cup. She is the cuddliest thing ever & always has a smile though. I think this child would want mommy to hold her 24 hours a day if I could. Needless to say, she’s had to do some fussing/crying cuz mommy had some packing/unpacking other stuff besides baby # 3 to tend to!!! Alos, she always knows when to get sick. 2 days before our move she came down roseola -- s he had a high fever that last 4 days & then a horrible rash. I felt so bad for her (& me honestly as she couldn’t have picked a worse time when life was at it’s most hectic.
1st Day of 1st Grade. My baby is getting so big. She got into Mrs. Collins class with her 2 best friends from school - Andrea & Mallori. She prayed all summer she would & I was so happy that God Answered this prayer for her!
Dylan started his speech program & preschool (our camera was ‘dead’ for preschool day, but at least I got his big boy speech 1st day. He’s still having some issues with separation, but I know he’ll get through it (hopefully before he’s 18!)
That’s all for now!
